Founding partners and long time friends Johan du Toit and Oliver Kirsten started their journey in wine in 2004 when they founded their first winery, The Juno Wine Company. Their second venture in wine, The Grape Grinder, was launched in 2010 with a singular aim: to create excellently branded, consumer-focused, award-winning wines.

The last thirteen years have been used to scour the premier appellations of the Western Cape for distinctive wines and forging partnerships with only the best cellars to make sure they source the very finest in value for the winery’s various wine brands.

Their choice of partner cellar has always been guided by the importance of social responsibility and sustainable labour and agricultural practices.

This continuous search for excellent value wines, coupled with their focus on strong branding has resulted in a series of wines with a long string of top awards for wine and packaging alike.
